CS - Cloud Software (Track)

Within recent years, cloud computing has become the scalable services delivery platform for new businesses as well as for new computing applications. The technical foundations of cloud computing in general lay in tried and true technologies, including for example service-oriented architecture, grid and web computing, and virtualization. However, this mix of technologies has proven to be a viable approach for delivering services in a fashion that is unparallel in terms of scalability.

The central goal of the cloud computing is to share resources, which can occur at various level including infrastructure (IaaS), computing platform (PaaS), as well as middleware and application software (SaaS). All these levels offer new means to utilize exiting resources more efficiently, although the practical realizations are different at different levels of abstraction.
The goal of the cloud software track at SEAA’13 is to bring together researchers and practitioners to define and shape cloud computing, and its related modernization strategy and directions of the services industry. Indeed, being a novel field of research and applications, numerous practical as well as academic achievements are awaiting to be discovered. Since numerous best practices have already been adapted to use, lively cooperation between academia and practical software engineering is needed for achieving the best possible results.
We encourage submissions of a theoretical nature as well as experience reports, from academia and especially from industry. Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished papers, which are not under review in any other conference or journal in the following, but not limited to, topic areas:

  • Infrastructure, platform or software as a service
  • Service oriented architectuee and Cloud computing
  • Virtualization of hardware and software resources
  • Programming models for Cloud software
  • Tool support for cloud computing
  • Performance modeling and performance testing
  • Cloud maintenance and management
  • Traffic and load balancing in the cloud
  • Energy optimization and saving for green data centers
  • User experience in the cloud

  • Business and economic models for cloud computing
  • Big data analytics in the cloud

Paper Submission

The paper submission system and further instructions are available at the submission page (link here). IEEE Computer Society Press will publish accepted papers in the conference proceedings and the IEEE Xplore Digital library. A selection of the accepted papers will be invited to revise and re-submit extended versions of their conference papers for consideration for publication in a Journal (under negotiation).
